Grave Secret – Charlaine Harris

3 03 2010

I want to start by saying that I am a big fan of Charlaine Harris’ books.  I love the Sookie Stackhouse Southern Vampire Series.  I started reading them to fill in the time between seasons of Trueblood and I am sure glad I did.  The SSV series is great, tons of action and great characters.  So, as many of us do when we like an author for a series or group of books, I picked up one that was not of this series.

I picked this up because I had finished the 9th book in the SSV Series and the 10th one is not out until May.  I can’t say I was a great fan of this book.  It never really got going for me, the action was there but it was kind of flat.  The characters didn’t capture me or make me care about them.  In truth, this book disappointed me.

In fairness, I have to admit that at the time I picked this book up from the library, I did not know that this was a series and that Grave Secret was the third installment.  So, I guess I should at least read the first one and see if I become more sympathetic/empathetic to these characters.

On a brighter note, the 10th book of the SSV Series is coming out in May and I can’t wait to read it.  This will be followed by the 3rd season of Trueblood in June.

Book borrowed from the library.
